Postscript: One thing I didn’t include in this episode was my fellow bus rider’s comment that ‘no one was listening to her’. In hindsight, I wonder if she might have been feeling this way because of a difference between her more ‘interdependent’ cultural value and others’ more ‘independent’ cultural value?
